Out now: DEL / Kobi – Split The Cosmos

Out today is the DEL and Kobi release Split The Cosmos, a C90 tape limited to 50 numbered copies. DEL reports from a cosmic trip to Bodø, Norway with a live recording from Nødutgangfestivalen 2010, while Kobi offers a spacey noise drone made from primordial matter, recorded at the release party for their 2010 album “Urstoff” at Sound of Mu, Oslo, Norway.

There will be a release party tonight at Café Mir in Oslo. The bands will play a set each and then join forces for a third set.

Lydgalleriet & Ekko are presenting “Kassett”, an exhibition of Norwegian cassette culture, at USF Verftet in Bergen, Norway, October 15th – November 14th. Our friend Lasse Marhaug has curated a compilation tape exclusively for the exhibition, limited to 255 copies. Our seventh release is the self-titled debut of Blue Faced People, the duo of Håvard Skaset (guitar) and Guro Skumsnes Moe (bass and voice). The tape is made up of live recordings from a tour of Italy in 2009. C36 limited to 50 numbered copies.

Guro and Håvard co-run the label Conrad Sound and also play together in Art Directors, Bay/Oslo Mirror Trio, MOE, Sult, and Burning Dog Orchestra. They have also collaborated in bands such as Minitrio and Force Majeure. Both are active in many other projects.

Allein Luddite, who also plays in Ghotul, Point Zéro, Death In Death Valley, The Gnagnagnas etc., and Norwegian Jon Wesseltoft of Thorns, Maranata, Tongues Of Mount Meru and Cock Of Corpse. Our fifth release comes from Norwegian free noise duo Maranata, consisting of Dag Stiberg (My Midnight Creeps, Now We’ve Got Members) and Jon Wesseltoft (Thorns, Tongues Of Mount Meru, Cock Of Corpse). The band has previously released six CD-Rs, four on Ambolthue Records and two on Snuffrider. They also have an upcoming album called Teeth on Roggbif Records.

On Site Point they substitute their usual instrumentation of guitar and saxophone with percussion and mouth organ to create an experimental drone piece divided into two parts. The cassette is limited to only 19 numbered copies and will only be available via our official mailorder partner Looop.

This new release by our Danish friend Claus Haxholm as Dead Black Arms showcases two extremes of his musical output. Side A is all harsh noise, while side B is a quiet drone.

Claus is also known as but his hands were tiny and so she said, The Doom Riot, Kanada Brothers and Taiko Oroshi.

Out now: DEL – Excellent Choice

Our first release is a double tape called Excellent Choice and features four distorted and explosive live performances by Norwegian drone-space-freak-psychedelic-noise-rock band DEL.

The first tape was recorded in Dunedin and Auckland during the band’s Sheep Tricks Tour of New Zealand in 2005, while the second tape features two shows in Oslo in 2006.
